The oranges of Ehime and Nishiuwa in Shikoku, a well-known production area for oranges in Japan, are characterised by the perfect balance of sugar content (sweetness) and acidity, and the thinness of the jounou (the bag part of a bunch of oranges) that covers the fruit. The ‘Mikan Daifuku Shizukuzumu’ is made one by one with the utmost care using small (3S size) oranges with a particularly intense sweetness, and wrapped in a thin layer of gyuhi with a subtly sweet white starch, allowing you to simply taste the deliciousness of the mandarin orange as it is.
The product name ‘Shizukudama’ expresses the feeling of overflowing juice when you first taste this mikan daifuku. Please feel the simple sensation of being juicier and sweeter than when eating only mandarin oranges.
■How to eat.
We recommend that you defrost the oranges slowly in the fridge for 6-8 hours and serve when the oranges inside are half defrosted. (Defrosting time varies depending on the environment.)
Please enjoy them in the defrosted state of your choice.
*Once thawed, please refrain from refreezing as the quality will deteriorate if it is frozen again, and please eat as soon as possible after thawing.
