Our Craftsmanship Philosophy
The fifth-generation maker, born into a family of earthenware craftsmen, grew up in a home where rice was never cooked in a traditional stove or a rice cooker—but always in a donabe pot.It was through conversations with employees that he realized this wasn’t common for most households. Motivated by the desire to make this tradition easier and even more delicious for everyone, he developed a donabe specifically designed for cooking rice.
Safe and Reliable Craftsmanship
Our products contain no harmful substances such as lead or cadmium.Even if the pot is accidentally heated while empty, or if moisture remains on the bottom, it will not crack. Kagetsu has independently developed both the durable clay and the glaze that make this possible. Proudly made in Japan, our donabe are safe, reliable, and designed for everyday cooking.
