About Sake Online

ABOUT US

Sake Online

Sake Online is a licensed Australian sake importer and wholesaler, trading since 2013 under Daiwa Food Corporation. We were one of the earliest dedicated online sake retailers in the country, born from a simple frustration: Australians had almost no access to the real breadth of Japanese sake — the rare, small-batch, and seasonal bottles that never made it past major distributors. So we went straight to the source.

Today we're the official Australian importer and distributor for Umenoyado Brewery, Tatenokawa Brewery, Choya Brewery, Dassai Brewery and other breweries across 30 Japanese prefectures, carrying over 500+ sakes, umeshu, shochu, and Japanese beers. Because we import directly and skip the usual middlemen, we're able to offer premium sake at fairer prices than most competitors and because most of our sake travels in temperature-controlled, fridge-condition shipping from the brewery, we're able to stock delicate categories like namazake (unpasteurised), sparkling sake, and nigori that don't survive standard import methods.

Alongside our national online store, you can find us in person at Sake Ginza, our physical shopfronts in Top Ryde (NSW) and Richmond (VIC), where customers can sample sake for free and pick up online orders.

Sake Online is licensed under Liquor Licence 36106723 (ABN 82 110 693 902).

Quality

  • Almost all our Sake's are fridge condition imported & stored, directly from the sake brewery. Despite the cost, this temperature control importation allows us to bring in new fresh sake categories like Namazake (unpasteurised), Sparkling Sake, nigori (cloudy) sake and deliver Australians quality sake.

Price

  • Sake can be expensive in Australia due to exchange rates, taxes, and distribution channels. By purchasing directly from the brewery and selling to the public, we offer high quality sake at fair prices.

Daiwa Food

Sake Online is proudly part of Daiwa Food Corporation, a major Japanese food importer and distributor built on a simple idea: a genuine, mutual relationship between customer and supplier, working toward a shared goal rather than a one-way transaction.

Founded in [year], Daiwa Food Corporation has grown into a recognised importer and distributor of authentic Japanese food products and sake for the retail, catering, and hospitality industries across Victoria, with business activities extending to Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns, and Perth through our interstate alliances. As Japanese cuisine has become one of Australia's most popular dining choices, Daiwa Food has supplied restaurants, retailers, and hospitality venues with the ingredients and drinks behind that growth — including the sake range you'll find at Sake Online.

Our company philosophy is simple: Selected food for health, and your choice — bringing Australians a true, authentic experience of Japan, one product at a time.
